Message from OUR local President

After listening to fellow brothers and sisters from locals across our Nation, 2014 should be the year that locals take a stand. Solidarity means unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest; mutual support within a group, OUR union. Together in solidarity locals of CUPE should take a stand and a united front by hitting the streets and STRIKE!

While in Quebec City, Lorna Tollman (president), Lynn Fleet (vice president), and Crystal Stoutenburg (communicator) showed support. Our brothers and sisters in Quebec have been without a collective agreement for almost 3 years. Negotiations have ceased and is being negotiated through the media. Basically the employer is going to the media to sway the opinions of the public to support unfair wages….SHAME!
